I believe that we all have an innate talent, skill, and purpose. From my first job as a busboy, military service, healthcare and higher education, my purpose has been to serve. All my occupations and careers have all been that of providing a service to one and many. To ensure that a need is fulfilled, to educate, train, mentor, to share my knowledge and skills with others. In conversations with residents, I hear displeasure. They seek a better relationship with city government, improvement of city services, better communication, they seek a reconnection. I’m running for mayor because I see a need. A need that can be filled by my training, education, and work experience. My ability to identify deficiencies, improve and maintain relationships. Collaborate with internal and external entities, in developing strategies to reach goals, and objectives. I had a successful military career, because of my abilities as evident from the awards and decorations bestowed on me. As a child I recall seeing and hearing President John F. Kennedy on TV, say “Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country”. Possessing the education, experience, and ability to improve a situation, to contribute, to help a community overcome challenges, I will apply my proven skills to the office of mayor. When I walk down the aisle of Walmart, and an item has fallen off the shelf, I pick it up. When I’m walking through a parking lot and a plastic bag is floating by, I pick it up. I picked it up because it needed to be picked up, there was a need. I’m running for mayor to be your voice, your advocate, your new leadership. I’m running because the residents of La Marque have a need. With your help, we can have a new way forward.
